About Us

Rising Sun Films is a Mumbai-based production house led by Director Shoojit Sircar and Producer Ronnie Lahiri. RSF believes in the power of the visual image, taking a dream to the far reaches of visualization and bringing a film to life.

Before Rising Sun Films we already had a strong background in running a large production house like Red Ice films. We made over 400 commercials and Yahaan, a feature film which received critics' accolades and the best debut director in the Osian Film festival 2005. With this experience under our belt, Shoojit Sircar launched Rising Sun Films along with his long-term producer Ronnie Lahiri.

In the panel of RSF directors Shoojit's films include a long list of commercials including Fair and Lovely, Pond’s, Hutch, Airtel, Coca Cola (India and International), Pepsi, LG, Hyundai, Suzuki, Ford, Glaxo, Titan, Cadbury, Nestle, Speed, Power, Electrolux, Phillips, Onida. The Royal Enfield commercial won the Best Director at the Abbys and AAAI awards and was short-listed at the Cannes Advertising Awards.
